1 juvenile hospitalized, 1 in custody after alleged aggravated assault

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Two juveniles were allegedly involved in an altercation on Saturday, March 15, leading to one being hospitalized in critical condition and the other being taken into custody.

On Saturday, authorities responded to a residence in Hooper on reports of an aggravated assault, according to a press release from the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.

“Two male juveniles were involved in an altercation, during which one juvenile was severely
assaulted and sustained serious injuries,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release Monday.

The victim was taken to a local hospital by ambulance before being transferred to Primary Children’s Hospital. The victim is still in critical condition as of Monday, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect was arrested and taken to a juvenile facility for several felony charges, according to the sheriff’s office. Weber Metro CSI, WCSO, and officials from Weber Fire District responded to the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials said the identities of the involved parties are not being released at this time.

There is no further information at this time.
