Just before 5 p.m., CHP says they responded to a reported collision on Millerton Road near Marina Drive.
Officers report a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Millerton Road just east of the entrance to Millerton Lake at a high rate of speed when the driver turned into a utility power pole, splitting it in half.
Investigators say the broken power lines hit the ground, igniting just the car on fire. The driver was able to self-extricate herself from the vehicle and had sustained minor injuries.
CHP says the woman was ultimately arrested on suspicion of DUI and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Officers say PG&E responded to mitigate the powerlines and had the Millerton Road closed overnight as they worked to restore power. The road has since been reopened.
