Officers with the Slidell Police Department reported that around 12 a.m. on Sunday morning, March 16, they were alerted of a crash on Highway 190 near Northshore Boulevard, between a vehicle and pedestrian.
Responding officers arrived to find a man suffering from severe injuries.
They said life-saving were done but the man was later pronounced dead on the scene.
An investigation revealed the victim, identified by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner as 27-year-old Trevor Carter from Florida, was reportedly walking along a “dimly lit area wearing dark clothing” when he was struck by a 2016 Chrysler 200 headed west.
Slidell officers said impairment in the driver has not suspected but toxicology tests results for Carter are pending.
The cause of the crash remains ongoing.
