Once again they maintain their perfect home record and have now won 13 straight games at home dating back to last season.
The game was rather quiet and low scoring for the most part, but the highlight for the Beavers came when Wilson Webber produced a bases-loaded hit up in the 3rd to give OSU a 1-0 lead. However, the Beavers wasted that opportunity and left the bases loaded.
Webber would come though again for the Beavs with a 2-run single to left field in the 7th.
GCU wouldn’t go quietly though. Gunnar Penzkover brought in a score in the final inning, reducing the margin to 3-1. The Beavers held their ground and put an end to the Lopes’ comeback attempt in the 9th.
This sweep follows sweeps of both San Diego and Washington State earlier in the week, as well as a 8-0 victory against Santa Clara on Saturday.
The Beavers will next turn their attention to Rutgers on Tuesday March 18, 2025 with first pitch slated for 5:35 p.m. You can catch the game live on Portland’s CW and the KOIN+ app or on KOIN.com.
