Sheriff’s Office adds extra day and more hours to visitation schedule

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office has announced a new visitation schedule for the Baxter County Detention Center which will go into effect April 1.

The new schedule includes visitation for inmates from 7 to 9:30 in the morning, 1 to 4 in the afternoon and 6:30 to 9:30 in the evening. There will be no visitations on Sundays, Mondays or Thursdays.

These changes come as an effort to reduce the burden caused by the removal of phone services in the detention center. The new schedule adds an additional day of the week for male inmate visitation, as well as having more hours for each day. The Sheriff’s Office also expects these new hours to decrease wait times for visitors.
