According to an update shared by the Chicago Transit Authority, Red Line service has been temporarily suspended between Garfield and 95th due to a derailment, though it is unclear exactly where it occurred.
As a result of the derailment, Red Line trains are currently only operating between Howard and Garfield currently.
To accommodate the disruption, CTA officials said shuttle buses are available to provide connecting service through Garfield to 95th.
Officials have not provided an update on when service is expected to be fully restored but advised riders to consider using alternative services like buses or other rail lines, like #29 State or #30 South Chicago.
CTA says it is working to restore service as quickly as possible but advises riders to allow for extra travel time due to the delays.
