“Best possible news!” Grant DePorter posted to social media. “I am in COMPLETE REMISSION!”
DePorter’s diagnosis of t-cell lymphoma came in January following a visit to an emergency department and visits with multiple doctors.
“They all were like confused, like what’s going on there,” he told WGN last month.
DePorter posted Friday while undergoing a fourth round of chemotherapy that he still needs to finish his treatments but added: “Thank you all for your positive thoughts and prayers!”
His group’s restaurant at Navy Pier on Tuesday will hold a Toast to Harry Caray. DePorter spoke to WGN Radio earlier this week to share the story of the 1919 ‘Black Sox’’ ball that was found in a time capsule and placed in the Chicago Sports Museum. He believes that by moving the ball, he cursed the White Sox. He’s determined to undo the curse at the event.
