New Orleans Fire Department mourns 14-year veteran
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Fire Department is mourning the death of another one of their own.
It was announce that NOFD Apparatus Operator 41-year-old Dwayne Jackson died Thursday morning, March 13 from injuries he sustained in a Prairieville crash.
Jackson, a 14-year veteran, is the third active member loss for the NOFD over the course of weeks.
The untimely death of Captain John Blackwell and District Chief Michael Windsay represent wounds still fresh in our hearts of our members, the loss of Operator Dwayne Jackson has just compounded our grief.

Blackwell’s death was reported on Feb. 24. Windsay’s death was reported on March 3.
