The average price for live crawfish will be around $3.99 per pound this weekend, while boiled crawfish can be found for around $6.45 per pound. A sack of live crawfish that weighs between 35 and 40 pounds will cost around $150 per sack.
“Unfortunately, the supply of crawfish dropped this past week due to poor weather and other factors,” Laney King, co-founder of The Crawfish App, said. “And at the same time, demand from crawfish consumers soared with the start of Lent.”
King said a surge in the crawfish supply is expected with sunshine and mild weather across the state next week.
