Jury convicts man in 2022 Jackson homicide

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Hinds County jury found a man guilty of manslaughter in connection to a 2022 homicide.

Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens announced that Isaac Griffin was found guilty of manslaughter on Friday, March 14.

Griffin was convicted in the shooting death of Kenneth Beals, 46. The shooting happened in the 2300 block of Ludlow Avenue on July 17, 2022.

When Jackson police arrived at the scene, the found Beals’ body in the front door, covered by a blanket. He had been shot multiple times. An investigation revealed that an argument led to the shooting. Griffin was arrested the following day.

Owens said Griffin faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 31, 2025.
