ISP: I-465 northbound closed after reported crash involving school bus
INDIANAPOLIS — Deputies with the Indiana State Police are at the scene of a crash involving a school bus which has caused a portion of I-465 northbound to be closed in northwest Indianapolis.

According to a post on Indiana State Police’s social media, I-465 northbound, at the 24.3 mile marker, is closed because of a reported multi-vehicle crash with injuries. The crash reportedly involved a bus from Washington, Indiana.

Officials with the Indiana Department of Transportation said that the portion of the highway that is closed is between W 96th St. and Zionsville Rd. Officials said that all lanes are closed in the northbound direction of travel.

In an updated post from the Indiana State Police, I-465 north is now closed at 86th Street.

In an update from INDOT, officials said that five people were transported to local hospital. The crash was “marked as a SBI crash,” or serious bodily injury.

“Expect long delays and avoid the area,” the post from the Indiana State Police read.
