Kolton Warren Schneider, 22, was lodged in the Lane County Jail and faces 13 charges of first-degree encouraging child sex abuse, the Eugene Police Department said.
Police investigated a home in the 2300 block of Irwin Way after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children that the video was being downloaded at the address.
“For approximately a year, a suspect had been downloading videos depicting sexual abuse of young children,” Eugene police said in a press release.
Though several people were living at the location, an investigation narrowed down the suspect, officials said. A warrant was granted and executed on Friday morning with the help of the Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Schneider was arrested and the home was searched.
