The new Carpenter’s Corner location is on South Alpine Road, in the Alpine Shopping Center. The store will officially be open at 9 a.m.
The store will not only serve residents in need but will also help fund programs that benefit the homeless among others in the community.
The organization said they are changing lives with the services they provide.
“I think it’s important to know that these are people in Rockford. We’re able to change lives of the homeless people and families in crisis,” said Carpenter’s Corner’s Director of Retail Operations Kelly Whitham. “Each life here in our city has a face, and they’re all individuals and important and they need comforts just like you and I so it’s wonderful to be able to do this and help change lives in our city.”
There are currently 30,000 new items for people to look through at the second location.
Discounts are available for seniors on Tuesdays and for veterans on Wednesdays.
