Bicyclist struck and killed by pickup in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. — A bicyclist was struck and killed on Old 132 in Madison County on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the 56-year-old bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Old 132, just east of 700 West, when he was struck by a pickup truck. The incident occurred just before 5 p.m.

Police said the pickup was a 2024 Dodge Ram driven by a 19-year-old. The Ram was also traveling eastbound on Old 132.

The bicyclist was rushed to a hospital but pronounced dead by medical staff.

At this time, the sheriff’s department has not released any details about the deadly crash and it remains under investigation.
