AMAZING VIDEO: Aspermont mom holds newborn for first time since near-death experience after giving birth

ASPERMONT, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Aspermont mother has been reunited with her newborn for the first time since she almost died after giving birth.

Kendra Olson essentially got to meet her baby Revenia Kay for the first Wednesday, an emotional reunion that was caught on camera by their loved ones.

As Revenia is handed to her, Kendra begins to cry and says, “oh my gosh. . . you’re so small.”

The video then ends with the two continuing to bond in the hospital, where Kendra remains on bedrest.

Kendra only got to hold baby Revenia three times before her she slipped into a coma and went into liver failure after giving birth three weeks ago.

She was rushed to a hospital in Dallas, where she received a life-saving liver transplant, but the emergency coupled with all of the medical procedures left Kendra with memory loss, meaning she didn’t remember Revenia’s birth or holding her baby at all.

While Kendra was recovering in Dallas the past few weeks, Revenia has been at Hendrick Medical Facility in Abilene in the NICU due to her premature birth.

Wednesday, Revenia was finally cleared for release, allowing family members to bring her to meet Kendra in Dallas.

Due to the extensive recovery needed for a full liver transplant, Kendra will still be in the hospital for at least the next 12 weeks, then she and her family will need to rent an apartment close to the facility so she can get emergency services if she has any complications.
