ACCT Philly shelter at critical capacity, urgent call for adoptions and donations

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — ACCT Philly, Philadelphia’s animal care and control team, is out of room at its shelter. The organization desperately needs adopters and foster households.

According to ACCT Philly, more than 160 dogs are already in their care, and some dogs are even being kept in crates in employees’ offices.

The shelter says it’s been forced to put time stamps on dogs because they are out of room.

To help free up some room and save lives, ACCT Philly has lowered adoption fees for all dogs and cats to just $10, thanks to a partnership with the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters event.

The promotion runs through March 23.

ACCT Philly says those who cannot adopt, but still wish to help, can save lives in other ways. People can help by fostering large dogs or donating to the organization. For more information, visit ACCT Philly’s website at acctphilly.org.
