Six injured during two-vehicle crash near Winters Freeway in Abilene

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Six people were injured during a two-vehicle crash near the Winters Freeway in Abilene.

The crash happened on S Danville Drive near Ivanhoe Lane around 9:00 a.m. Thursday.

Police at the scene say a van carrying six adult passengers was in the merging lane attempting to enter the freeway when it was struck by a pickup truck that had made a wide right turn off Ivanhoe Drive.

Both vehicles ended up in the ditch off Danville Drive, and all six passengers in the van were transported the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators say the driver of the truck will receive a citation for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device.
