SPC Outlook: The latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center for Friday and Friday night has shifted east compared to yesterday. They still have a small chance of strong to severe storms over the eastern edge of our area, however models indicate that severe weather is doubtful as most of the ArkLaTex could stay dry.
What we can expect Friday: Most models, including Futurecast, show that we will likely begin Friday with a mostly cloudy sky. There is a chance that some showers and maybe a t’storm will develop over the eastern edge of the area, but that chance is looking slim at this time. Friday will be a very windy day with sustained southwesterly winds of 15 to 25 mph. We will likely see gusts over 30 mph. There is a small chance that we could see a little bit of rain on Saturday.
10-Day Forecast: Once Friday’s disturbance moves away, we will settle into a dry and rather pleasant weather pattern that could last through all of next week. A little rain will be a slight possibility on Saturday, then sunshine will return on Sunday and linger through most of next week. Daytime highs will mainly be in the 70s and could dip into the 60s late next week. Overnight lows will mainly be in the 40s.
