The FBI says Justin Smith was taken into custody in Atlanta on March 8 for “his alleged involvement in the murder of his pregnant 21-year-old girlfriend, who disappeared on March 30, 2021, and whose body was found on April 5, 2021.”

Smith was charged with murder in Philadelphia, and a warrant was issued in April 2021. A federal warrant was issued in 2023.

FBI Philadelphia thanked the following departments for their assistance in Smith’s apprehension: Philadelphia Police Department, Upper Darby Police Department, Atlanta Police Department, FBI Atlanta Division, FBI Charlotte Division, FBI Newark Division, FBI Tampa Division, FBI Miami Division, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and South Carolina State Police.
