Drunk Portland woman driving stolen car struck rock off roadway, killing passenger, police say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Portland woman was arrested on March 3 after allegedly crashing a stolen car, killing the passenger in her vehicle.

Selena Brust, 27, was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail and charged with DUII, unlawful use of a vehicle, reckless driving, reckless endangerment and second-degree manslaughter.

Police say the crash took place just before 5 a.m. on Hwy 26 near milepost 44 in Clackamas County.  

“The (car) left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a rock before rolling off the northern side of the roadway. The vehicle had been reported as stolen prior to the collision to the Gresham Police Department,” OSP said.

Beaverton man, Nathan Bergstrom, 45, was declared dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
