The pond is located between Coquille and Myrtle Point in Oregon. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office said they responded just before 9 a.m. to reports of a dead body found in the area. A homicide investigation is being conducted as a result of that call, officials said.
While the sheriff’s office did not release the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin, they said they are seeking the public’s help in the case.
Specifically, the sheriff’s office wants to know if “anyone was present at Johnson Mill Pond between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on March 12, 2025.”
