Much milder in Acadiana this Thursday morning with most areas feeling temperatures in the lower 60s. Patchy fog is possible too. Highs this afternoon will be running about 10° above normal as we reach the lower 80s. Skies turn partly cloudy as we stay quiet for today. Lows tonight return to the 60s with more fog possible.
Isolated showers and storms are possible tomorrow along with a very low risk for severe weather. Our full attention continues to be on Saturday. Showers and storms will be more widespread across Acadiana Saturday morning and the atmosphere should be more supportive for severe storms. Damaging winds, strong tornadoes, and large hail are all threats. The Storm Prediction Center has central Acadiana in the “Enhanced Risk” which is a level 3 out of 5 for the likelihood to see severe weather within an area. A tornado outbreak looks likely east of Acadiana, across Mississippi and Alabama by Saturday afternoon.
