Megan Casebeer, one of Sandoval’s attorneys, played hours of audio recordings sharing the verbal fights the two would have over the years.
Sandoval and the jurors listened to fight, after fight, after fight.
“I don’t want to talk anymore, leave me alone,” yelled Green at Sandoval in one of them.
“You are psychotic, lady, you are psychotic,” Green said.
“You think you are an angel in the relationship?” questioned Sandoval to Green in another recording.
“No, just name one thing,” asked Green about what he does wrong in the relationship.
“All the names you have called me,” she answered. “The times we’ve gone to jail.”
“I can’t stand you,” said Green in another recording. “You can’t imagine how much hatred I have for you.”
Green and Sandoval met at the end of 2009.
Their arguments started over several things during their relationship, but several centered around Sandoval or Green seeing, texting, or dating other people. When Green saw Sandoval with another guy at a bar he started crying in a recording a few days later.
Even after their baby was born in 2013, the ups and downs in their relationship continued.
In one recording, you can hear Sandoval slap Green.
No matter how bad it got, the two kept getting back together, while continuing to argue.
“You don’t help me pay bills, you don’t clean around here. You don’t cook around here, and you don’t put out whenever I ask you to,” said Green in response to Sandoval asking what she doesn’t do for the relationship.
Sandoval has admitted on the stand to killing Green in 2015 in his Goshen home. She shot him in the bathroom when he returned from the gym.
Afterward, she picked up their son from her mother’s, went to a tax appointment and then got frozen yogurt with her family.
Her family previously said she acted normal at the time.
The court will be dark on Wednesday and will be back in session on Thursday. The defense is still examining Sandoval, and the cross-examination has not begun. The trial is expected to last at least until the end of March.
