Rockford police arrest father and son on weapons charges after traffic stop

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested a father and son duo on weapons charges Tuesday after a loaded weapon was found during a traffic stop.

Officers with the Specialized Community Policing Enforcement (SCOPE) team stopped a car in the area of Broadway and 9th Street around 9:32 p.m. and found the weapon during a search of the vehicle, police reported.

Randy Bray Sr., 42, was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Repeat Felony Offender.

Randy Bray Jr., 23, faces charges of Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon.

Both men were booked into the Winnebago County Jail pending the outcome of pretrial detention hearings.
