According to a release from the City of Covington, the parade will now be happening on Sunday, March 16, at 11 a.m., with streets closing for it at 10 a.m.
Officials also say that the Jewel’s Cigar Block Party has been canceled.
“The safety of our residents and visitors is our highest priority. After careful review of weather forecasts in collaboration with the National Weather Service and parade organizers, we have decided to reschedule the parade to Sunday and adjust the start time to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all,” said Covington Police Department Chief Michael Ferrell.
