The Cook County Sheriff’s Office announced in January that deputies were actively searching for Jorge Mondragion-Bahena, 48, after he removed his GPS tracking device in March 2023. Mondragion-Bahena was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a minor under the age of 13 in October of 2022.
In January of this year, authorities learned that Mondragion-Bahena may be residing in
Chicago under multiple aliases and working as a cook at an unknown local restaurant.
According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, additional information revealed that Mondragion-Bahena lived in the 4500 block of S. Talman Avenue.
Upon their arrival at the location, authorities located Mondragion-Bahena and took him into their custody.
On Friday, March 7, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved felony escape charges.
A Cook County judge denied Mondragon-Bahena pre-trial release following a court hearing on Saturday, March 8, and will remain at Cook County Jail.
