Justin Reid is returning to Louisiana to play for the New Orleans Saints

NEW ORLEANS — The same day the New Orleans Saints lose safety Will Harris to the Commanders, reports surface that the team is signing Justin Reid.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter says that the Saints and the Dutchtown product have agreed on a three-year, $31.5 million deal that includes $22.25 million in guaranteed money.

Reid has spent seven years in the NFL, four with the Houston Texans and three with the Kansas City Chiefs.

He took over safety duties following Tyrann Mathieu’s departure and now he gets to play alongside the Honeybadger.

The former third round pick won two championships with Kansas City and played his final game with the Chiefs in their Super Bowl loss to Philadelphia last month at the Caesars Superdome.

Reid is a quality addition to the Saints’ secondary with 102 starts and 106 appearances in his seven-year NFL career.

He recorded 10 interceptions and 580 total tackles during that span. He was the Chiefs’ leading tackler in the 2023 season.
