Captivate Learning Center seeking students and educators

CULLMAN, Ala. – Local educator Lauren Rainwater opened the doors to Captivate Learning Center on Jan. 13, 2025, with the goal of changing the stigma and perception of tutoring by building students’ confidence, creating a safe and supported environment and teaching children to love learning.

After serving in the education system for 11 years, Rainwater noticed a growing need for a place where students could receive tailored support while genuinely loving the learning process. “Captivate was born from my passion for creating captivating, hands-on learning experiences that empower children to thrive while supporting families every step of the way,” she said. “I also wanted to create a community that supports and encourages other teachers who share this same vision, providing a space where they, too, can offer experiences that make a lasting impact on students’ lives.

Rainwater holds a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, a Master’s in Differentiated Instruction with a focus on English Speakers of Other Languages and an Instructional Leadership Certificate with a micro-concentration in character education. She has also been LETRS-trained, which allows her to work with special populations of struggling readers such as those with dyslexia.

Rainwater is now seeking additional educators to help serve at the learning center. The center is seeking “innovative educators who bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a love for learning to the classroom.” Upper elementary (third-sixth grade) educators with more than three years of experience and an active teacher certification are needed. This would require 1-2 hours per week. Interested parties can visit https://forms.gle/NBtrrG2Ki14PUkLP6 or email captivatecullman@gmail.com for more information.

Students can register for one-on-one tutoring sessions or enroll in learning pods. Rainwater stated, ”Learning pods are a student and family favorite because it’s only 2-3 students all working on the same skill. With it being an hour-long session, you get the best of both worlds — some one-on-one time and the push and encouragement from peers in a small group setting.”

Captivate Learning Center is located 410 First Ave. SE, Suite 201, in Cullman.  To schedule a session or for information, email captivatecullman@gmail.com or reach out through Messenger on the Captivate Learning Center Facebook page.
