Takamiya had a record-tying day, scoring a birdie and eight pars in the front nine before an otherworldly five straight birdies and on the back nine. Toole finished up the weekend tying with Takamiya for first place overall with a score of 135 (-7). Toole had one birdie and eight pars in the front nine before coming alive with four birdies on the back nine. Her overall score for Sunday’s round was 67 (-4), one of her best days as a Bruin. Overall, the two Fox golfers combined to shoot 14-under for the tournament, the best any two players had shot in GFU history. In fact, both seven-under scores set a tournament record, besting Kelsey Morrison (2012) and Sydney Maluenda’s (2015) previous record of six-under.
Not to be outdone, Liana Brown placed in fifth place overall with a score of 143 (+1). Brown had one birdie, seven pars, and a bogey in the back nine. She then had seven pars in the front nine. Her overall score for the second round of play was 73 (+2).
Ainsley Carter wrapped up the weekend in fourth place for George Fox and 34th place overall, she had a score of 155 (+13). In the second round of play, her score for the day was 77 (+6).
