One of the best days of the Illinois high school sports calendar has arrived.
It’s super-sectional Monday for boys basketball.
Around the state, 64 teams will compete Monday night — 16 in each of the Illinois High School Association’s four classes — for the chance to play at the State Farm Center in Champaign this Thursday through Saturday in the IHSA State Tournament.
The remaining teams in each class playing Monday night are called the “Super Sixteen.”
A number of those “Super Sixteen” programs are from the Chicagoland area, some of which will be playing each other Monday night for the right to advance to Champaign.

Class 4A
Lisle Benet Academy vs. Quincy

- Did you know? Benet Academy has qualified for the State Tournament six times but is still seeking its first state title. It was the Class 4A state runner-up two seasons ago. Quincy has qualified for the State Tournament 23 times, tied for second-most in IHSA history, and is seeking its third state title.
Glen Ellyn (Glenbard West) vs. Evanston Township

- Did you know? Evanston is seeking its 13th State Tournament berth and has one previous state title. Glenbard West is seeking its third State Tournament appearance and also has one previous state title, which came three seasons ago with a 56-34 defeat of Chicago Whitney Young in the 2021-22 Class 4A championship game. Evanston was the Class 4A state runner-up in 2018-19.
Chicago Kenwood Academy vs. Richton Park (Rich Township)
