Saquon Barkley receives honorary “key” to Allentown

The City of Allentown honored Barkley with a special honorary Celebration in the PPL celebration.

Barkley was also met with a performance by the Whitehall High School cheerleaders and marching band, which is his alma mater.

“Allentown is beyond excited to celebrate a local champion at this special event”, said Mayor Matt Tuerk. “Saquon Barkley embodies what makes Allentown the beating heart of the Lehigh Valley: dedication, resilience, kindness, and commitment to the community.

“As the Mayor of Whitehall, it will be an honor to acknowledge Saquon’s accomplishments on behalf of the people of Whitehall Township,” said Mayor Joe Marx prior to the event.

In a story on Instagram, Barkley said he is “Thankful to the Lehigh Valley, City of Allentown, and Whitehall for the key to the city”.
