12-year-old boy charged with armed carjacking on South Side

The boy was arrested just after 3:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of West 70th Street on Sunday.

Around 30 minutes earlier, police accuse the stealing a vehicle at gunpoint from a 45-year-old woman in the 6900 block of South Laflin.

Minutes earlier, the boy tried to steal another vehicle in the same location.

He was charged with vehicular hijacking with a firearm and attempted possession of a stolen vehicle.
