Baton Rouge firefighters tackle duplex fire on Holt Avenue, 11 displaced
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a duplex fire on Holt Avenue on Friday afternoon.
Upon firefighters’ arrival, they found a duplex with heavy flames and started working to extinguish the fire while protecting nearby homes. The roof collapsed shortly after the firefighters’ arrival. The fire spread to two homes in the 800 block of Holt Avenue.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist four adults and seven children who were displaced by the fire.
