Disturbance #1 Wednesday: Next week’s first disturbance will move across the middle of the country on Wednesday. There is some model agreement that showers and possibly thunderstorms will develop near or in the ArkLaTex and strengthen as they move east. Given the degree of storm ‘fuel’ seen in the graphic below, severe storms will be possible.
Disturbance #2 Friday: Our best chance of seeing severe storms could come next Friday. Once again storms will likely develop near or in our area. The graphic below shows that we will see even more ‘fuel’ available for storm development with this second system. Afternoon temperatures will likely be in the low 80s over much of our area. If severe storms do develop, all severe weather threats will be possible including tornadoes. There is still a great deal of uncertainty as to the extent of any severe weather threat next week.
10-Day Forecast: Your 10-day forecast shows three disturbances that will bring a chance of rain in the coming week and a half. The first will be on Saturday, the second on Wednesday, and the third next Friday. With warmer temperatures next week, thunderstorms will be possible. As of right now, it appears that the best severe weather risk will be to our east. High temperatures will warm into the 70s on Friday, cool to the 60s this weekend, and warm back into the 70s and low 80s next week. Overnight lows will mainly be in the 40s and 50s.
