Man found racing under the influence in Madera County, CHP says

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was arrested after being caught racing another vehicle in Madera County while being under the influence, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers say they observed a 21-year-old man in a yellow Chevrolet Montecarlo racing a white Honda Accord on Thursday. Both vehicles were reaching speeds of over 100 mph.

CHP says a traffic stop was conducted on the Chevrolet in the area of westbound Highway 152 at Road 12. The driver of the Chevrolet was displaying signs of symptoms of alcohol intoxication, so he was placed under arrest under suspicion of DUI.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the Honda did not stop and continued westbound.
