Overnight burglary of deceased Beaverton homeowner prompts investigation

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Beaverton police are investigating a person of interest who broke in and stole from a home the week after officers discovered the owner had died inside.

Investigators said the burglary took place in a single-family home in the Steele Park neighborhood on the night of March 2 sometime between 11:30 p.m. and 4 a.m.

“Last week, prior to the burglary, Beaverton Police responded to the same residence, where the homeowner was found deceased,” officials said. “Now, less than a week later, a male suspect — captured on the home’s surveillance camera — is a person of interest in the burglary.”
