Mine safety, health among 15 federal offices in Kentucky shuttered by DOGE cuts: Here are the roles affected

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Federal offices across Kentucky were added to the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) website on Wednesday to be closed or have already closed.

In Lexington, the Office of Surface Mining and Regulation Enforcement is listed for closure.

Six offices for the Mine Safety Health Administration are listed to be closed across the Commonwealth, and four Internal Revenue Service (IRS) offices are also on the chopping block.

In Louisville, a Federal Drug Administration (FDA) office is being closed, and a U.S. Attorney’s Office in London is being closed, according to the DOGE website.

In total, 20 federal offices in Kentucky have reportedly been closed or are listed for closure by the DOGE.
