By rssfeeds-admin According to a news release from the department, the grants will be for local road and bridge projects across 245 cities, towns and counties in the state of Indiana. This set of funding totaled $200,947,809.55.
“Improving and maintaining roads and bridges at all levels is crucial for enhancing quality of life and public safety for Hoosiers,” Braun said in the release. “Communities across the state need investment in their local infrastructure and we are pleased to partner with them to make necessary improvements.”
This funding includes the following communities:
- $760,262.06 to Bloomington
- $1,500,000 to Columbus
- $1,500,000 to Fishers
- $1,500,000 to Indianapolis
- $313,870.50 to Nashville
- $740,282.50 to Zionsville
The release said that communities submitted applications for funding during a call for projects in January. Funding for Community Crossings grants come from the state’s local road and bridge matching grant fund.
“I travel Indiana’s 92 counties all the time, and I know how important it is for a community to have great roads and bridges,” Braun said in a statement on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, regarding these grants. “These $200 million Community Crossings matching grants will go to improve local roads and bridges across the state and improve quality of life for Hoosiers.”
