Get the kids ready for Daylight Saving Time this Sunday

Daylight Saving Time falls on Sunday, March 9th this year and losing that hour of sleep is difficult for anyone but especially for children.

“Children are very sensitive to even the slightest changes in schedules. Their circadian rhythm is still developing. This very slight change in schedules can lead to grumpiness, very difficult for them to fall asleep and also impulsivity during the day,” said Maria Clara Lopez, founder of Not A Peep.

Maria’s top five tips are as followed:

Sponsored
  1. Shift your child’s schedule gradually earlier by 15 minutes over the course of four days.
  2. Keep your child’s bedtime routine intact without skipping or changing any step.
  3. Sponsored
  4. Block all light coming into the bedroom.
  5. Make your child’s bedtime routine a time to relax and unwind.
  6. Use a toddler alarm clock.
