EF-2 tornado in Wayne County causes damage, injuries

WAYNE COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – Wayne County residents are once again left to clean up a mess after another tornado on Tuesday, March 4.

An EF-3 tornado tore through the Beat 4 Community in February. The National Weather Service (NWS) reported Tuesday’s storm was an EF-2 tornado.

Three homes were destroyed along Riley Jordan Road. One mobile home was ripped to shreds across a field. Another home was torn off its foundation and rolled, while another home’s roof was ripped away.

Four people were injured during the storm on Tuesday. Wayne County emergency officials said they’re not aware of the extent of those injuries, but the victims are believed to be hospitalized as of Wednesday, March 5.

Wayne County residents are urging people to remain vigilant of any upcoming severe weather.
