Shots fired after physical fight between teenagers, police seek info

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) — A fight between teenagers led to shots being fired, according to the West Valley City Police Department.

Two groups of teenagers were reportedly arguing along 3500 South and 3500 West around 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. The argument led to two of the teenagers physically fighting.

“Another uninvolved teen produced a weapon & fired into the air. The groups scattered,” police said on social media Tuesday.

No one was injured, and police said they spoke to a person of interest.

Investigators have responded to the area and are conducting interviews. WVCPD said anyone with information about the incident has been asked to call 801-840-4000.
