Rockford man charged with battering an elderly woman

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Prentice Myles, 40, for allegedly battering an elderly woman.

On March 4, around 6:20 p.m., officers were called to the 3400 block of Thelma Street for reports of domestic battery. The woman told authorities Myles was intoxicated when the incident occurred.

The victim attempted to stop the suspect from entering her home but was pushed to the ground, injuring her knee, according to court records.

The woman told officials three children also witnessed the incident.

Myles denied battering the victim when before he was taken into custody, according to court documents.

He is charged with aggravated battery of a woman 60 or older and domestic battery causing physical contact.
