Police: UW Health patient charged with DUI leaves cocaine baggies in the bathroom

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Sonya White, 45, for allegedly taking baggies of cocaine into the UW Health bathroom.

On March 4, White was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and taken to UW Health on East State for treatment. She was released with a notice to appear in court after arrival at the hospital.

Police were called back to the hospital when nurses reported that White repeatedly went to the bathroom and they found baggies containing white powder around 10 p.m.

The powder tested positive for cocaine, according to court documents.

The suspect was medically cleared for release and taken to the Winnebago County Jail shortly after.

White is charged with manufacturing and delivering cocaine.
