1-year-old boy found unresponsive in Grand Crossing, later pronounced dead, ID’d by Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office

CHICAGO (WGN) — The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a 1-year-old boy who was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead Monday morning on the city’s South Side.

The medical examiner’s office identified the 1-year-old as Rayshawn Hudgins.

According to the Chicago Police Department, Rayshawn was found unresponsive just before 7 a.m. in the 7300 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue, in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Detectives are conducting a death investigation, pending autopsy, according to police.
