The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a 911 call of someone reporting gunfire and a fight taking place near the parking lot of the Jenkins Estate on SW Grabhorn Road. When deputies arrived, they said they found “a 19-year-old man had been pistol-whipped, assaulted, and robbed at gunpoint.”
“The victim reported that all of the suspects were armed,” the sheriff’s office said in a release. “The suspects had already fled in a white 2017 Infiniti Q50. The victim was treated at the scene and later released.”
Deputies found the Infiniti near Southwest 170th Avenue and Southwest Oak Street more than 10 minutes later and detained all five people in the car, officials said. The four adults are facing second-degree assault and first-degree robbery charges. The fifth person who was detained was a 17-year-old who had a handgun, the Washington County Juvenile Department said.
Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit later responded and found three more handguns and “a realistic AR-15 replica pellet gun.” As part of the approved warrants executed to search and seize the Infiniti, detectives also found face masks, drugs and paraphernalia.
The four adults who were arrested include the driver, 18-year-old Osvaldo Jacob-Cabrera from Bethany, 21-year-old Joseph Hale Faaleava from Bethany, 19-year-old Brennan Wayne Jones from Aloha and 20-year-old Eyoeal Fasil Belete from Gresham.
Detectives said they are concerned the accused robbers “may be connected to other crimes.” The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office.
