Newman pulls away late in regional round contest against Pope John Paul II

NEW ORLEANS — No. 4 Newman defeats No. 20 Pope John Paul II, 60-43 in the second round of the Division III Select boys basketball playoffs.

The Greenies were led to victory by RJ Livingston who had a 23-point performance.

Newman advances to the quaterfinals and will take on either No. 12 Lafayette Christian or No. 3 Rosepine.

Boys basketball playoff highlights featured on WGNO during the week and WGNO’s Friday Night Sports. The show takes place on Friday nights at 11 p.m. on Nola 38 the CW. It replays at midnight on WGNO.
