According to the criminal complaint, around 9 p.m. on Friday, February 28th, a caller advised police that a man was throwing rocks at vehicles and smashing windows in the 200 block of N. Main Street.
The responding officer reported seeing a man, matching the suspect’s description, walking north along N. Court Street, toward Park Avenue and approaching him.
However, police said Malone disobeyed instructions and ran, leading the officer on a foot chase for 30 yards, before he stopped and turned around, shouting “Come here, bitch!” at the pursuing officer.
According to the court documents, a brief struggle ensued, during which Malone allegedly scratched the bridge of the officer’s nose.
The officer then used his Taser to subdue Malone and placed him in custody.
Police said at least two vehicles suffered over $1,000 in damages.
Malone faces charges of Aggravated Battery, two counts of Criminal Damage to Property, and Resisting Arrest.
