ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) — The start of crawfish season has seen crawfish thefts on the uprise. Farmers are wary of those looking to steal crawfish this season.
Scott Stein, of Lawtell, was arrested for his connection to two separate incidents that occurred in the community of Ebenezer and north of Crowley.
Officials said they responded to reports of crawfish being stolen from a field that was being harvested at the time of the theft. Sacks of crawfish were stacked to be picked up by other farm hands as the person fishing the fields continued his work. However, multiple sacks were stolen from the field road where they were placed.
