The SHCC reviews and develops the Alabama State Health Plan and advises the State Health Planning and Development Agency (SHPDA) on matters relating to health planning and resource development. Clements will serve as a representative for health care providers in the state during his three-year term ending in February 2028.
“Clements, who has been a health care administrator for more than 30 years, will bring valuable perspective and representation to the table, specifically that of small independent hospitals challenged by outmigration and lack of growth,” said a media release from Cullman Regional.
“James’ service on the Statewide Health Coordinating Council will be a tremendous asset for our community and our region,” said Sen. Garlan Gudger, R-Cullman. “The availability of quality health care is important for our residents, and his service on the council will only bolster medical care in our area.”
“As the CEO of a community-based hospital, my priorities are very much aligned with that of the SHCC,” said Clements. “I look forward to contributing to the Council’s good work on behalf of all Alabamians.”
Clements also currently serves on the Board of Directors for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
