Grandma’s House partners with local organizations to bring advocacy to children in need

A local nonprofit is creating safe places for child abuse victims and their families across seven counties in North Central Arkansas. Grandma’s House is a children’s advocacy group which offers free services such as advocacy, forensic interviews, medical exams and trauma focused therapy.

Grandma’s House works with law enforcement, DHS and the prosecuting attorney’s office to aid in the investigation process. Kaleigh Soma, the Community Development Coordinator for Grandma’s House, says the partnership with David Ethredge’s office has been crucial.

Soma says it’s important to make sure the children feel comfortable to tell their story. One way they achieve this is by having fluffy dogs in the office.
